James has over thirty years relevant tax, investing,
finance and audit experience. Over the years he has built
up strong relationships with the Revenue and the Banking
and Financial sectors.
James experience spans a range of accountancy services including
the formulation of tax structures for clients who wish to
avail of various tax reliefs such as the efficient use of
losses, group structures, BES and Seed Capital funding in
addition to advising on Section 23 type reliefs.
He also has a wealth of experience dealing with all personal
and capital taxes including capital acquisition tax and
capital gains tax. In particular, he would be involved in
estate planning for high net worth individuals maximising
the tax reliefs available on passing on wealth to the next
generation.
A maths graduate from UCC, James founded the accountancy
practice in 1978 and has overseen its growth over the last
number of years. He qualified as a chartered accountant
in 1977 from Craig Gardners, Cork (now part of Pricewaterhouse
Coopers). In addition James is a fellow of the Institute
of Chartered Accountants.
